This website has been compiled by me from the brilliant young pianists, most of whom are my You Tube friends and/or subscribers. Some I have known for several years, others are new friends. Hopefully, they will visit this site and add some information about themselves and maybe some more performances. Unfortunately, due to American bureaucracy, chidren under the age of 13 cannot join Pro Boards, of which this is one. Therefore, perhaps they could ask an older person to join and represent them.
The site will need some admin staff, so if anyone is interested in becoming an administrator, or moderator, or whatever they're known as, please do volunteer.
Although I am based in England, I don't think any of the pianists featured on this website live in this country. They're mostly from the United States, Canada, Japan, Russia and China. I guess we don't go in for this in England.
When Lang Lang did a recital on Chinese television, 800 million people (that's almost 70% of the population) tuned in to watch him.
The UK has never had an audience of 70% of its population; the biggest audience ever was the 1966 World Cup, England v Germany, with slightly over 50% of the UK population.
Michael Jackson died a few days ago and I've frequently heard him described as a musical genius, yet he didn't play musical instruments. The children featured on this website, are true musical genii (or is it geniuses in modern parlance?).
Whilst it's not necessary to join the site as a member, it will be required if you wish to participate in or start any discussions.
Enjoy the site, and feel free to discuss any of the categories.
